MATERNITY/PEDIATRICS

The Family Centered Birth Experience...

Since 1954, one Bucks County hospital has helped over 73,000 Pennsylvanians get off to a good start. More babies have been born at Lower Bucks Hospital than at any other hospital in Bucks County. Our superior clinical facility features state-of-the-art technology, and experienced, caring professionals who treat you like family.

We’re particularly proud of the many accomplished, University-trained obstetricians who choose Lower Bucks Hospital for you and your baby’s delivery. Your obstetrician leads a highly experienced and capable clinical team that is ready for any eventuality. Board certified anesthesiologists, neonatologists, pediatricians, and a staff of highly trained nurses are ready to welcome your baby.

While many hospitals are limiting or closing their maternity services, Lower Bucks Hospital is expanding to meet the needs of growing families.

Call us to find a doctor or to take a tour of our facilities. For 73,000 great reasons, we are the number one birthplace in Bucks County. Find out why. Call 215-785-9552.

Labor & Delivery

In 2000, we opened our new Labor & Delivery Suites. The ultra-modern design blends, privacy, comfort, and efficiency in an atmosphere that is very "family friendly." Beautiful Labor-Delivery-Recovery Suites with centralized telemetry monitoring and private bath and shower have all the amenities to create just the right atmosphere for your special day. A large therapeutic whirlpool room serves as one of the many options offered during labor.

The Family Lounge is a comfortable place for loved-ones to gather and await the arrival of the baby.

Maternity

The Maternity Suite at Lower Bucks Hospital includes 17 private rooms, each with bath and shower. After you have a chance to recover from your delivery and bond with your new child, you will move into your own Maternity room. Your obstetrician and pediatrician will visit you each day. The LBH Maternity nurses will help you to prepare to take your baby home, and they will answer any questions you may have.

Newborn Nursery

In most cases, this is where your child will meet the pediatrician and have a thorough physical exam. The Nursery nurses monitor the status of the infant, and they will orient you to the care and feeding of your baby. They will be happy to answer your questions about breastfeeding, cord care, and any other concerns you may have. These nurses will arrange for your baby to be in your Maternity room with you. If you wish to rest, just call and they will return your baby to the nursery.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Just in case your baby needs extra special clinical care, Lower Bucks Hospital has a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) just a few steps from the delivery room. Our board certified Neonatologists care for babies who are born prematurely or have a condition requiring continuous nursing and medical attention.
